Round three of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship saw Tjaša Fifer win the Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX. The Slovenian delivered an incredible ride in the Serbian mountains to take victory in the Hobby class at Xross Hard Enduro Rally.
Never giving up, and overcoming the odds each day, Fifer fought hard all week to land such a memorable victory. After 10 hours of racing, across four days, she won by 46 seconds. It was that close!
“It’s been an incredible week,” told Tjaša at the finish line of Xross Hard Enduro Rally. “I’m so happy to have won the Hobby class outright and to win the Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX. It means a lot to get this trophy.”
Showing incredible strength and determination, Fifer pushed hard on the opening day in the mountains. Claiming the Offroad Day One win in Hobby by almost one minute, she headed into Offroad Day Two hoping to build on that lead.
“Offroad Day One in the mountains was my best day on the bike. Everything felt so good and I was able to finish the day first.
“Offroad Day Two was tough. There were many, many stones. It was constantly uphill and downhill. I think it took a lot of energy from me because I struggled a lot on Offroad Day Three.”
Beginning the final day of racing tired and sore, but with a lead of 56 seconds, Tjaša was determined to see the victory through, despite some early setbacks.
“I had many problems early on and was not riding well on the final day,” said Fifer. “At the service I took some time to recharge. Soon after I felt my rhythm again and stayed strong to win the race.”
Returning home to Slovenia with both the Hobby class winner’s trophy and the Women’s Hard Enduro Performance Award supported by 24MX naturally brings a smile to her face.
But as Tjaša puts it, she hopes her efforts inspire more women to follow in her tyre tracks and join in on the Hard Enduro fun.
“I won this award last year, so to win it again here at Xross Hard Enduro Rally is amazing. I hope my results show what us women riders can achieve in Hard Enduro and that more women come to race. It’s an awesome sport and I love it!”
The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship now looks forward to round four at Romania’s Red Bull Romaniacs on July 23-27.
